its crazy to think that these pictures were taken this time last week. i’m not sure what this tennessee winter craziness is, but i don’t exactly hate it because at least i got one snow day out of it. and yes, this is what i wear to go out in the snow because i live in tennessee and i know better than to invest in a heavy winter coat.
my plan was to share a list of my new years resolutions and goals today, but as it turns out i’m having a very severe case of writers block. if i’m being honest, its more like a creative block. i’m having a really difficult time styling outfits, taking pictures, editing pictures, writing text, and anything else that goes along with trying to be a blogger. i know what i want to say, but i don’t know how to say it. and thats a theme thats stretching throughout my entire life right now. hopefully, a resolution post is coming soon. not for you guys necessarily, but for myself. i started this blog mainly to stretch myself and force myself to be confident and its kinda having the opposite effect at the moment.
thats a lot of honesty for your monday (if you could see my face as i’m typing i’m making a really awkward one), so here are my outfit details:
free people sweater, 7FAM jeans, dolce vita booties (similar)
considering french fries are my favorite food and taco bell is my favorite dinner spot, this sweatshirt was the perfect christmas gift. i love how oversized and roomy it is-perfect for a travel day or just being lazy.
if you’ve met me then you know i HATE new years eve. i just feel like we always make these great-in-theory plans that never actually pan out and the night ends up just a big disappointment. who wants to end the year like that?! last new years one of my besties and i ate our weight in taco bell, watched a movie, and fell asleep before midnight. no disappointment there! this year my girl alice and her husband are coming to nashville to celebrate. we won’t do anything elaborate (i hate crowds and there’s no way we’re going “out”), probably just a low key night at one of our friends houses with apps, zerts, and champs. i knew i wanted to try and look festive, but also be comfortable. i also knew i wasn’t spending a lot, so zara was my first (and only) stop. this dress is really comfortable, but i think the velvet trend makes it just fancy enough for new years. my valentino dupes are my go to shoe for most occasions, but lets be real, on new years eve i will most likely be wearing converse with this dress.
a few weeks ago, marty and i took a vacation to our favorite place in the world: disney world. i know i know, we’re adults. why is our favorite vacation spot a place where the central character is a cartoon mouse. and i’ll tell you why: IT’S THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH PEOPLE. literally!! i’m considering doing a bigger blog post on all my disney tips (because if i counted correctly this was my 13th trip to a disney theme park so i know some stuff), but for now i’ll just talk about this trip.
outfit details: BCBG romper (similar), j.crew sandals
breakfast at the beasts castle! you normally have to book a reservation months and months in advance, but sometimes they have walk in tables available and we got lucky and just walked right in. it was so cool and just how i’ve always pictured it to be. there was this main dining room from the big “beauty and the beast” scene, then another room with the torn up beast picture and the rose, and a third room like the dining room in “be our guest.” SO SO COOL.
the castle all lit up like this is the entire reason we went to disney world during the holidays. so unbelievably pretty.
when we go to disney, we always get the park hopper ticket. that way we can enter and re-enter the parks as many times as we want to throughout the day. we usually go to all four parks, but since we had limited park time this trip, we decided to stick to just magic kingdom and epcot since you can ride the monorail between the two parks. we went to the parks on friday, sunday, and monday and had the best time bouncing between magic kingdom and epcot. i’ve always dreamed of seeing disney world decorated for christmas and it did NOT disappoint. talk about magical!! i even cried at one point because of how overwhelmed i was with the magic of it all.
we spent saturday exploring the new disney springs. if you’re familiar with disney world then you’ll know this is the “new” downtown disney with added restaurants and shopping. it’s AMAZING. so many unique restaurants and great new stores including zara and uniqlo (i had never been in uniqlo before and i am now obsessed). we also got to see the new christmas drone show while we were there. i know it sounds weird, but trust me, it was so so cool. here’s a youtube video of it. doesn’t do its justice but you get the idea.
we spent tuesday before our flight exploring the different disney properties. if you’ve never visited the different resorts while down there, marty and i highly recommend it. it’s so fun to see the different themes of each resort, and how magical each one is. we started the day with brunch at our favorite disney restaurant, the grand floridian cafe, located inside the grand floridian resort-which has the most beautiful christmas tree i’ve ever seen and a life size gingerbread house in the lobby. then, we rode the monorail around to our favorite resort, the polynesian. this resort is one of the original two that opened in 1971 when magic kingdom opened (disney nerd alert). marty and i love it because here you can grab a dole whip (YUM) and walk along the beach and see magic kingdom from the shore (another nerdy thing we like). after the polynesian, we drove over to the wilderness lodge to see its christmas decorations. this resort is AMAZING. i don’t even know how to explain how huge, yet super cozy it is. it’s like the worlds biggest cabin. plus there’s a really cool waterfall/stream that goes from the lobby to the pool and it’s just so neat.
if you’ve made it this far, i hope you enjoyed this super long disney recap. it really is my favorite place in the world (if you couldn’t tell by this point).
a little holiday party outfit inspo for you! except maybe invest in a battery pack for your lights so you don’t have to stay plugged into the same wall all night? or, plan to stay plugged in as a way to not be social at your awkward work christmas party! totally your call (though i would for sure use the plug excuse to just sit in the same spot all night and avoid as many people as possible).
black jeans, camel sweater, and backless loafers for an easy outfit thats way classier than i actually am. i don’t think i’ve ever owned loafers before, but this gucci pair has recently caught my eye and i can’t stop dreaming about them. (sigh) maybe one day. this zara pair will suffice until then.

our complex randomly has these ping pong tables down by the greenway and for 25 cents you can buy your own ping pong ball and have some cheap fun. what better way to work off all the thanksgiving damage than some ping pong ya know?!
over here fulfilling all your basic white girl stereotypes with my leggings and uggs and red starbucks cup its fine.
for the record, i didn’t curl my hair specifically to roll out of bed and get starbucks in basically my pajamas. i finally made a long overdue appointment with my girl laura for a trim and hair color refresh yesterday and somehow i literally woke up like this. i really deep in my heart want to go back to being fully blonde (you can see a picture here), but the maintenance is a pain and i’m worried all the bleach will cause my hair to break off making me look like guy fierri again (photo evidence here). so anyways, laura worked her magic and made my hair lighter and brighter and i love it. i highly recommend booking an appointment with her if you’re in nashville-she’s the best and the ohana salon is the cutest.
if you can’t wear your pizza shirt on a friday, then when can you really? i’ve also worn this shirt for 4th of july (because ‘murica) and for new years eve (because duh). so really its quite versatile and a great investment piece for your wardrobe.
ps-these perfect adidas are actually from the kids section at j.crew. whenever i want trendy sneakers, i always check the kids section because they’re $5-$10 cheaper and you literally can’t tell the difference. people are always shocked when i do this because i wear an 8.5/9, but youth sizes just have the word “youth” in front of it…the sizing is just like mens. my superstars are a youth 6.5, but these are a youth 7 (because they weren’t sold in half sizes) and they’re actually a little big. i’m obsessed with them though, so its worth it to have the extra room.
