i’m not one to post tons of outfit selfies on instagram, but i’ve been trying to get better about it. especially in this crap tastic weather we’ve been having lately, its not like i’ve exactly been inspired to go out and take lots of outfit photos. so here’s a wee little instagram round up of outfits recently. lots of these things are on sale, too!
yes i’m an idiot and wore shorts in the snow..but not for long! these are my absolute favorite workout shoes right now though!! they go with everything and give lots of support, which is great because i do a lot of HIIT workouts at home when i don’t have time to get to the gym.
i love this t-shirt because its basically the $35 version of the nearly $600 gucci one. i could never justify a $600 t-shirt but i can certainly justify a $35 one (milan version is sold out, but this venice version is just as cute).
we celebrated our sweet friend rachel a few weekends ago with a fiesta themed bridal shower! i was very into my outfit (not to toot my own horn) and i’m obsessed with this shirt so much that i bought it in two colors.
this is an older picture, BUT these something navy x treasure and bond mules are now less than $30!! what a steal!!
have a great week!!
i’ve been reevaluating this blog situation for months now and i still haven’t landed on a definite direction. all i know is that i love shopping, i love sharing, and i love writing. how to best combine those things is still up in the air. BUT until then, there are just too many great sales happening right now not to share. so here is a list of lots of random things that i’m loving on sale right now to help combat those sunday sads.
the sweatshirt version of my favorite tank top (as seen above) is on sale for $28 at macy’s. i bought it (duh) and love it so much that i just ordered this cheeky one (i sized up in both for a roomy fit).
i’ve been eyeing these unlined uggs for months and am thisclose to pulling the trigger. what do y’all think?
i bought marty this cardigan last week for stupid cheap. it looks so nice and classy on him, and goes with so much in his wardrobe. i should be nice and grab him another color probably.
i ordered this dress a few weeks ago on a whim and really love it. the length is perfect and i really love the mustard color.
my favorite workout top (i have it in black, not pink, but this is a great price).
all of the j.crew swimsuits please. j.crew makes my all time favorite swimsuits and now is a great time to get one, especially if you’re lucky enough to go on a warm winter getaway.
i really like the sleeves on this sweater.
my something navy x treasure and bond mules are 40% off.
my favorite rag and bone booties are on sale for less than $200.
these free people slippers look equal parts insane and cozy.
this scarf cape situation is the perfect throw on and go chic accessory.
this striped, strapey jumpsuit is SO cute.
this pair of high rise levi’s looks so cool. (i could never pull them off but maybe you can?)
um, nordstrom rack has a missoni poncho for less than $70, this seems insane to me.
i need to stop before i buy anything else. happy sunday, y’all!

hey look guys i still remember my wordpress password!
blogging is apparently really hard for me, but figured i would pop in and share my favorite sales happening, as well as share links to my favorite bloggers who have done/i know will do really great gift guides (i may still do one but i’m not good at photoshop collages like other people are!).
j.crew-40% off plus an additional 10% off AND free shipping
j.crew has had 40% off all week which i feel like was already really great, but this whole extra 10% and free shipping is awesome. if you’ve been wanting to invest in a j.crew coat, now is a great time. i have this stadium cloth cocoon coat and its seriously so beautiful and timeless. they also have my favorite slippers at j.crew, which make a great and easy christmas gift for everyone.
nordstrom-extra 20% off select sale items
the internet really seems to love this brand, and this cardigan is less than $25. such a random thing for nordstrom to have but this toothbrush is ADORABLE. this monogram hamper would be a great gift for a college kid.
technically, macy’s is doing an extra 20% off, and there are lots of things that this applies to, but they also have a lot of great coupon excluded markdowns. a kitchenaid for $199! buy one get one free fiesta ware! so many great prices on free people! the easiest way to shop big sales like these are to do specific item searches for things on your list and then sort the results low to high to see what the coupon code does and doesn’t apply to. if you’re patient you can find some really great deals!
shopbop-extra 35% off all sale items
because shopbop carries so many great brands, the best way to shop this sale is similar to how i suggested shopping the macy’s sale. click the sale tab, filter by your sizes, and sort the items low to high. that way you don’t miss any deals! you could also filter by your favorite brands, but you might miss discovering a new brand this way!
here are my favorite blogger gift guides:
sequins and stripes
the style scribe
brighton the day
carrie bradshaw lied
the small things blog
chronicles of frivolity
damsel in dior
literally everyone and their brother is talking about the nordstrom anniversary sale and i’m so annoyed of it but i feel like a lot of my friends and family don’t know about it. SO, i’m going to do this one post and update it as i find good things and hopefully help y’all find some good deals.
if you don’t have a nordstrom card, its super easy to apply here. i just have the debit card and it gives me access to the sale just like credit card members.
okay. so my favorite things from the sale so far:
literally the only thing i’ve bought so far from the sale is this living proof set. its 3 FULL SIZED products! and when i bought it, i was able to snag the free gift with purchase of 2 travel sized products, too. i literally got nearly $100 worth of product for $45. unreal.
i’m also thinking about buying this alterna set before the sale is over. i got the travel sized products in a sephora reward a few weeks ago and i’m loving them!
these voluspa candles are amazing! now is a good time to stock up on them to have on hand for last minute gifts
the exact replica of this zara shirt (from this post) is included in the sale in tons of colors. these are also a similar pair of loafers, that actually look like better quality for less than i paid for my zara pair.
obsessed with this pocket tee.
this is a GREAT deal on a north face rain jacket. i’m really debating it for ireland!
these stuart weitzman OTK boots are a great deal if you’re looking to invest in a pair!
my trusty nike air max thea sneakers in a super cool embossed croc-ish print.
i really want to get marty every colorway of these nike roshe two sneakers.
the wash on these the rail t-shirts looks really cool and comfortable.
love this thermal henley-perfect for layering in the fall and winter!
this herschel supply co. backpack would make a great carry-on.
i didn’t know nordstrom carried le labo!! this set would make a great gift! santal 33 smells DIVINE.
a gold bar cart for under $150? all the praise hands.
looooove the marble on this s’well water bottle.
this rug is beautiful.

somehow i got lucky, and i’m headed to the beach again this weekend. i am SO SO SO excited! in the spirit of vacation, here’s a little round up of my favorite beach/vacation/pool day essentials that don’t break the bank.
- i’m very into the idea of a one piece, so i ordered this one from amazon because it was unique and cheap. unfortunately, i’m a smidge too tall for it, but i definitely recommend it! the quality seemed decent for less than $20 and bonus: it’s padded.
- i ordered this leave in conditioner for post beach/sun hair and this solar recovery body spray for when i (inevitably) get burned. i got burned last weekend at the pool and sprayed the solar recover on immediately and my burn healed fast and didn’t peel!
- obsessed with this beach towel!!!
- these are my favorite flip flops this season. i have them in brown and gold, and i just ordered the black. they’re SO comfortable and don’t look sloppy.
- these havaianas are my favorite flip flops for the pool. and they last FOREVER. i’ve had both of my pairs for 2 or 3 years.
- j.crew makes my favorite swim suits and they have so many cute options on sale right now for amazing prices. i’m IN LOVE with this long sleeved, zip up one piece.
- i grabbed this beach bag in black last year and its perfect.
- taking into the water and in a dark, dark wood for this beach trip.
- i have two of the wet brush hair brushes because they are literally the best for brushing wet hair. i keep one in my pool bag at all times.
- my throw on and go to the beach hat.
(full outfit post here)
i’m sorry for the lack of outfits around here lately. all of the weird weather has left me completely uninspired, truthfully. now that spring is officially here/its probably already summer now, my creative juices should be flowing again. i also have a few fun beach trips planned which will for SURE inspire me! for now, please forgive me, and just blame the psycho weather we’ve had in tennessee as of late.
also, happy easter! easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. the celebration of the resurrection of jesus is just awe inspiring really. please take a moment this weekend to reflect of the sacrifice, and what he did for US. for US, guys! (sorry, not sorry, to get a little preachy)
and what better way to celebrate the lord’s death and resurrection than to do some shopping, amiright? well, other than eating your weight in ham, deviled eggs, reese’s eggs, and pie, but i digress.
shopbop: 20% off orders under $500, 25% off orders over $500 with the code EVENT17
if you are a regular reader of blogs, then you are probably way over hearing about the big shopbop sale. it IS a really great sale though. there are few exclusions and you can get a lot of great pieces that normally don’t even go on sale, or wouldn’t until the end of the season. my advice is to make a list of things you want and then do item specific searches. for example: i really wanted/needed a new pair of jorts. so, i filtered my search for jean shorts and then set the sort to low to high, and boom. all the shorts to choose from. i ended up ordering this one teaspoon pair in two different sizes in hopes of finally finding a pair of one teaspoon shorts that fit me (that whole no stretch thing doesn’t work for my booty).
nordstrom rack: clear the rack (extra 25% off markdowns0
i’m a sucker for a good clear the rack sale. they’re my favorite!! fringe booties for less than $25? sold. 7FAM jeans for less than $45. a beautiful off the shoulder, lace tularosa dress for $54. all the wildfox for less than $50. can y’all see how i’m so addicted to shopping?! i can’t stay away from a good deal!!
other great sales:
j.crew: 30% off with the code MUSTHAVES
j.crew factory: 50% off everything
old navy: entire store on sale, up to 50% off
gap: 40% off your purchase with the code HOPTOIT
banana republic: 40% off your purchase
macy’s: extra 20% off (but really when is macy’s NOT doing 20% off…?)
asos: shop more save more sale-$50 off $200, $70 off $250, and $100 off $350
forever 21: extra 30% off sale items with the code EXTRA30
target: $10 off when you spend $50 on clothes and accessories with the code STYLE10
my main tip when shopping any sale is to filter the items first by category, then by size, sort the items priced low to high, and repeat for any category you’re looking for. a lot of times places like j.crew, j.crew factory, old navy, gap, and banana republic will have a pretty manageable sale section; so i’ll just filter the entire sale page by my sizes and sort it low to high and go from there. fast fashion places like asos and forever 21 have a million things on sale most of the time and its easier (and less overwhelming) to sort by specific category.
or, if you’re feeling completely overwhelmed by the sale shopping process in general and need help finding a specific item-HOLLER AT YOUR GIRL. i love shopping a good sale, and helping spend someone else’s money just means i’m not spending my own 😉

is anyone else as desperate for a vacation as i am? i know it hasn’t been THAT long since i was on vacation, but this week i’ve been desperate to get out. if anyone has any cheap vacation ideas, please let me know!!
there are some pretty great presidents day sales going on this weekend, so i plan to do some shopping to lift my spirits.
j.crew: 30% off with the code WEEKEND
my favorite jeans are under $100 (seen here and here), this is such a cute spring dress, so many great swimsuit deals i can’t even narrow down my favorites, the cutest striped turtleneck, love these aviators, classic new balances in a great color, my favorite iPhone 6 cases for less than $10, one of my favorite shirts i own, so in love with this cami (and so mad i ruined mine after new years)
target: 25% off apparel and shoes with cartwheel
obsessed with these slides that sort of look like my dream hermes pair, love these mesh insert leggings, i’m all about a striped jumpsuit, the bell sleeves on this sweater are perfect, every single swimsuit, my favorite pajamas ever (i have them in two colors)
free people: 25% off select styles + free shipping
my favorite bralette is 2 for $30 (such an amazing deal!!), i want this top in every color, i love the pattern on this off the shoulder dress, a patriotic tank for less than $20, this open back t-shirt is in my cart, classic skinny jeans for less than $50, looooove the heel on these boots, this ring set is darling
other great sales:

old navy: up to 50% off storewide + 30% off your order
gap: up to 40% off storewide + 25% off your order
nordstrom rack: extra 25% off clearance
nordstrom: up to 40% off with their winter sale
banana republic: 40% off your purchase
ASOS: 20% off with the code PREZ20
image is an outtake from this post.
happy last three day weekend until april, y’all. what better way to celebrate than to shop?!
j.crew: up to 70% off original prices with the code SHOPNOW
my love and devotion to j.crew is unending. though there aren’t a ton of noteworthy new arrivals right now, there is SO MUCH goodness in the sale section. and some literal steals. a $4 phone case. my favorite swim suit top for $10 (i already had this is white, and i just ordered it in black and navy). the classic field jacket for nearly half its original price. great prices on the new balance x j.crew line. i’m in love with everything and it was hard to choose, but i ended up ordering this crop top since its so unique and out of my comfort zone. j.crew is also discontinuing their wedding line (so upsetting), so there’s amazing deals on their bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses right now. if i were to do my wedding all over, i would wear this simple, dreamy gown.
banana republic: 40% off full priced items and 50% off sale with their “not your average sale” event
banana is pretty hit or miss for me, but when they hit, they HIT. i actually went in the store over the weekend and was amazed at how many things i fell in love with. i tried on these jeans and was OBSESSED. i didn’t pull the trigger on them because i already have a great pair of light wash raw hem jeans (seen here and here), but if i can’t get this pair off my brain by the end of the day i’m going to have to order them. i love the button detail on this sweater so much. these shoes were marked down to $33 in store, so if you like them its worth going to the closest banana republic to find them. so many classy trends in one shoe-i love them. this is such a fun cami and could pair with so many things you already have in your closet. i’m a firm believer that leopard is a neutral.
nordstrom rack: surprisingly, they’re not doing clear the rack this weekend. however, there are TONS of great markdowns right now.
i bought these booties this week after seeing them on one of my friends and i LOVE them. they’re SO comfortable and they look so much more expensive than $40. i am in love with every pattern/color of this rash guard. i should probably just go ahead and buy every option right?! you know, for all the surfing i do during the summer (HA!). this is such a great LBD and would be so easy to dress up or down. the perfect wildfox tee to go with my perfect wildfox sweatshirt. i’m kind of really loving this free people white jumpsuit/overalls situation. this donut phone case speaks right to my heart. this isn’t a steal necessarily, but definitely a great price on this suede fringe cape. i mean, all the praise hands and heart eyes.
other sales: old navy is doing 30% your order and free shipping with an order $25 or more, anthropologie is still running their tag sale with an extra 40% off of sale items with the code TAGTIME, macy’s is offering an extra 25% off of clearance, gap is doing 40% off your purchase with the code GREAT, everything at j.crew factory is 50% off, and as always, nordstrom’s sale section is wonderful.

i hope everyone had a very merry christmas! ours was so busy but we got to see (almost) our entire family which is the best gift anyone can ask for. i’m a very thankful girl. there are so many after christmas/new years sales going on right now-put that christmas money to good use, y’all (or just treat yoself to all the stuff you didn’t get)!
zara: this zara sale is huge. HUGE.
on my wishlist are: this raincoat, this floral bomber, this shirtdress, this fun little dress, this sequin number that would be perfect for new years, this flowy checked blouse, this velvet tank, this embroidered button down, these ballet flats, these velvet loafers, these sneakers, and this bag.
zara also has the best kids section that i love to look at for all the babies my friends are having. i love this wee little fleece jacket for a boy or girl, these overalls, these little shorts, these mini sweatpants, these little boots, and this pompom hat.
shopbop: extra 25% off sale items with code TREATYOURSELF.
today’s the last day for this great sale. shopbop’s sales are one of the best ways to get high end designer items at a great discount. aquazzura heels for less than $200, wildfox sweats, rag & bone sneakers, rebecca minkoff saddle bag, an awesome free people velvet jacket, eberjey PJs, hunter boots, RAILS button down, frye boots, rag & bone jeans, and so many more great things. my tip for shopping this sale (and the nordstrom sale) is to set your filters to your favorite designers and your sizes and just look through everything so you don’t miss something. its tedious but its how i always find the best deals-especially if you sort the items low to high!
nordstrom: half yearly sale
gosh i love nordstrom. to get the best out of this sale, i think you should just dive in with the tip i mentioned above and comb through everything. there are just so many great deals that you don’t want to miss. i won’t go through and link my favorite clothing items this time because i honestly feel like i’m becoming redundant. but, here are some of my favorites from the home section (which i always forget about, but am pleasantly surprised when i remember to look at it). star wars stein for the star wars obsessed, 2017 planner, cork board world map, “don’t talk to me while i’m texting” mug (which i find HILARIOUS and i might get it to take to work), movie night trivia book, dominos, grid print gift wrap, cute wine glasses, “see america” book, a cute pom pom throw blanket, and lots of great deals on bedding, bath, and rugs.
since christmas is days away (how because it was literally halloween last week!), i figured i would put together a little gift guide of sorts for all you last minute shoppers out there. don’t worry, i’m not done christmas shopping either. honestly, i’m probably just going to count on amazon prime to read my mind and just start dropping stuff off at my door.
for your dad: a drone to play with, grill master cookbook, a fancy tie set, a smartwatch, shaving kit, a classic work bag/briefcase, the james bond boxed set, any sort of power tool, laser gun alarm clock
for your mom: a classic tote bag, the perfect pair of slippers, christmas dishes, unique earrings, the downton abbey boxed set, tech gloves for texting and staying warm, scrabble fridge magnets, the handbag raincoat (has there ever been a more mom gift?!)
for your sister: marble iPhone case, cozy leggings (grab a pair for yourself too and let your mom take cutsey christmas pictures!), faux fur earmuffs, this perfume sampler to help her find her favorite scent, dainty initial necklace, fringe booties
for your bestie for the restie: a unique crossbody bag, “she believed she could, so she did” cuff, the perfect plaid scarf, harry potter trivial pursuit (and if your best friend doesn’t like harry potter then they shouldn’t be your best friend anymore), daily devotional, monogram mug
for your work christmas party: a festive candle, fun red plaid thermos for all the coffee you need during the day, mug cakes cookbook, a pretty bottle opener, mindy kaling’s “questions i ask when i want to talk about myself”, bag of awkward questions
for your bae: a classic denim jacket (marty has this one and loves it), a record player (and chris stapleton’s traveller to go with it), a nice watch, old school electronic baseball, gaming system/games, a single cup keurig, cool nikes
for the kids: old fashioned, regular ole legos for building towers and cities that aren’t batman or star wars themed, walkie talkies for all their spy needs, glow in the dark kicks, fuzzy cat socks, a jellycat bunny lovey (i know a kid that would argue this is the best gift in the world ever), basketball set
hopefully this was helpful to y’all! i definitely got some gift inspiration while i was making it. now fingers crossed it all gets here in time…
